2017’s Summer Trend

This summer has seen the rise of garish floral and tile prints – combined with bright neons and millennial pink. Here’s where we talk you through this summer trend, and give you a bit of inspiration on top.

COLOURS

  • Opt for rich and varying shades of green
  • Mix with neons and other brights
  • Millennial pink is in (so is any pink clashed with splashes of green or blue)
  • Add a touch of metallic for a day to evening look

PRINTS

  • Busy animal prints are in; think flocks of flamingos
  • Anything leafy, floral or jungle themed
  • Tile prints or geometric prints are a fun contrast
  • Combine with plain bright coloured fabrics for impact

FABRIC

  • Stick to more natural fabrics or blends
  • Choose light and bright textiles
  • Woven fabrics are a fun way to add texture

WHAT TO MAKE

  • Culottes are perfect for summer and the inevitable transition to Autumn
  • Use for exteriors, the more pattern clashes the better. Cushion covers are a great make that you can change season after season at little cost
  • Pyjama style twin sets, in a heavily patterned fabric
