We were delighted to be sponsoring the sewing weekender. Held on the 20-21st August, in beautiful Cambridge at Murray Edwards College, we definitely missed out on all the sewing fun, fabric and pattern swapping and talks. However dwell we must not, as we followed the weekend as close as we could and were extremely excited to see what the attendees thought about our goody boxes.
Putting our heads together, we decided on what each box would contain- our fabrics were the obvious element and sewing essentials of course! At Adam Ross Fabrics, we have a very large variety of fabrics, in different prints and finishes, so as you can imagine, we were spoilt for choice. Giving this some thorough thought we pulled out some in-house favourite fabrics, some wildcards and popular rolls of fabric and teamed each one with a complementing plain fabric.
Alongside this, we added in other accessories including scissors, pins and needles, measuring tapes, buttons and the list goes on. We had so much fun compiling the boxes and hand tying each bow to beautifully finish our gift to the attendees. It has been most satisfying to see the feed of our contribution, including the tea courtesy of us here at Adam Ross.
We have enjoyed reading the blogs by organisers, English Girl at Home (Charlotte) and The Fold Line (Kate and Rachel) and watching their vlog too. A thank you to the lovely Gabby Young, Gabberdashery for the lovely comments in her vlog, this really made us all smile!
There have been some other great blogs and posts too which have all been really lovely to read and see. Here are some of them: Grace Whowell- Beyond Measure, Corrine Ward- What Corrine Did Next, Emma Jackson- Crafty Clyde, Jen Waler- Gingerthread Girl, Melissa Fehr- Fehr Trade, Pippa Pease- The Fabric Wrangler, Rachel Wain- Rachel Against The Sewing Machine and Sue Young- Susan Young Sewing.
We are looking forward to seeing more makes with our fabrics and are extremely excited for the the next event! So who will be organising the next one?!
